My cousin and I both got engaged this past spring and when we starting looking for something that we might want to wear at our weddings, we were finding it difficult to find something fun and more 'youthful', but age appropriate. That is where the idea started. We are both 60, but very youthful and try to stay young at heart. It is difficult finding clothes in general that match our personalities, don't look matronly, but are made for a body that isn't between 18-35. Since that time, my cousin has decided not to go into the business, so it is solely mine. 

The name "Silver Charm" came to me one morning just as I woke up. The "Silver" represents our hair as we grow older and "Charm" is hopeful something part of who I am (some my disagree). Then the ideas of what I could do with a name like "Silver Charm" like include a small silver charm with purchases, have it as part of my logo, etc. I would say that clothing in not my first passion for having my own business, but I think of it as part of getting to where I eventually want to be.
